I have a ONE YEAR OLD! (almost)

Tomorrow, my little boy is going to be a whole year old!!!!!!!!!! I can barely keep up! At this same time, I'm googling "what do you feed your one-year-old." Because doesn't a whole one year old eat entirely different things than a 11-month old? Tomorrow, he turns one. Does that mean he can suddenly crack into a crab leg and split sunflower seeds? Ok, all jokes aside, it doesn't...but something new must be happening as he's entering his 2nd year of life. Tomorrow, after work, I'll come home to: "hey mom, get me a beer will ya?" And I'll just cry...

On Sunday, we had his birthday party. It turned out to be a fair success. The guests enjoyed the food, baby was super well-behaved and adorable, and the cake was delicious. We had an outpouring of gifts...SO MANY GIFTS for a baby! So many gifts, and not so much space. And so it begins...the quest to find more space. This is when parents decide to move from urban to suburban...ALL BECAUSE WE NEED MORE SPACE FOR A BABY'S TOYS.

Its all well worth it. Nothing...seriously...nothing can compare to the face of an excited baby as he opens/we open his presents (although I think the was more attracted to the brown cardboards and wrapping). Like this one:

....baby went NUTS! But who wouldn't? He talks, sings, says YOUR NAME! It even sings you bed time lullabies and tells you its time to go to sleep. Does the parenting for you! Toys these days!!

We are all so appreciative of everyone's generosity. The party comprised of 50 adults and 8 children, but when a baby turns one, its a party for the adults...really. We love to celebrate the life of a one year old. After that, no one cares anymore...so live it up, kid!
